READ ME: About IceClan

Postby Gatsu » Wed Jun 18, 2014 4:41 pm

IceClan is a multi-game guild of very close friends. Established in 1995 we are one of the oldest guilds in online gaming. Our community of online gamers enjoy competing in the MMO gaming environment and sharing that experience with each other. Due to the very close knit nature of our guild we have very high standards on who we will accept into our ranks. Our membership has branched out to numerous games such as Ultima Online, Everquest and World of Warcraft. With smaller forces, we defeat opponents with skill instead of overwhelming them with sheer numbers.

IceClan members regularly meet up at various places. Our biggest gathering is held once a year in Las Vegas. Members from all over the US and Canada come to partake in the festivities.

We have beta tested numerous games and many of our members are involved in gaming related companies.

We pride ourselves on being the best at what we do and overcoming the odds. Player vs. Player combat is where we demonstrate what being the best is. We are also Anti-PK, unless the game is structured in a way that makes it impossible.

Guiding Principles

The principles that all members of IceClan must abide are as follows:

We believe that all who meet us, whether they be friend, ally, guest or foe, deserve respect. They do not need to earn it from us for we will give it openly to them. They will, however, be required to prove themselves worthy of it.

We believe that trust is the foundation for a strong bond by which all who oppose us can be defeated. Without trust, we cannot form the bonds we need to overcome adversity.

We believe that honesty is paramount. We are judged by what we say and what we do. We will make no false promises and we will not attempt to mislead in any way. Our word is our bond.

We believe in fair play. This allows all to enjoy the game without having to endure the feeling of isolation and persecution. It provides an equal ground where any can achieve stature by ability and performance alone.

We believe that friendship is the basis of enjoyment and without it, we cannot play the game as it was intended. Without friendship, we cannot provide an arena where any and all are welcome as equals to enjoy playing the game. We will actively seek out those who share in our views and invite them to join us.

The foundation of IceClan is that of the best and most respected Anti-PK guild. We do however engage in PVP battles frequently, because once we find enemies who do not uphold our guiding principles we are merciless against them and will make it a point to seek them out and crush them.

How To Join IceClan

You should know that the recruiting process for IceClan is different than most guilds. Basically, we don't recruit. We have been together for some time (years and years) and we enjoy the familiarity of a close-knit guild and make up for our small numbers with teamwork and skill. The best course of action if you would like to join/assist IceClan would be to:

Group with as many IceClan members as possible, especially “full members” as they are the people who make the decision to let you join or not.

Post on our forums and introduce yourself. Just a quick hello and introduction would be nice.

Send an in-game message to an IceClan “full member” that has grouped with you, or knows you well, regarding your interest in joining and ask them to forward your request to Northefist.

Uphold your own in-game integrity. If you act like a clown, we'll most likely hear.

Be friendly, but fair. We want friends, not a fan-club.

Be patient. If you are looking to be guilded this week (or next) look elsewhere. It takes longer than that to get a feel for someone, and for them to get a feel for us.

These are just a few guidelines and, as with anything in life, there are no guarantees. We may decide that you aren't a good fit, or you might decide the same of us. Hopefully throughout the process you will make some new friends and have some fun experiences.

This should give you a better idea of what to expect and how to proceed. Thanks again for your interest in us.

If you are looking for a quick fix, you may want to consider another guild, we pride ourselves on our guiding principles and they are built over time.
