What's the word on this game? I just happen to catch a trailer for it and watched some gameplay footage ~ looks decent, but I don't keep up w/ these things...

Anyone else have any feedback/input?

Neat find hadn't heard of it yet. I'm guessing I'll probably be diving into FF XIV around the time this comes out.... Though if FF XIV turns out to be crap this looks like it might be a good alternative. Something about them redoing the battle system and it'll even support game controllers at launch that makes it interesting.

haha...

FF crap?

haha...

the idea is preposterous! what ff has ever been crap? FF in its time has been frikin sweet! Only FF that might have been below par was FFXI, but that shit was released a year late in USA, so for the time it was released in Japan it was awesome. MMORPGs were growing at an amazing rate then.

Tera is made by former members of the Lineage 2 team, so that should appeal to Tyson. :D

Its more focused on combat, think Tekken style from what I understand.

The U.S. publishing partner, En Masse, has Pat Wyatt (one of the ArenaNet founders) running it, so that bodes well for it.

That is all I know.

Well considering how much I'm enjoying FF XIII on PS3 and the thought of the skill/level system in FF XIV being somewhat similar (rumors) that sounds extremely promising... so yeah FF XIV turning out to be crap is a pretty slim chance but a chance!

Looks like Tera has some good things going for it though...Tekken style combat in an MMO sounds bad ass lol

The first FF online was crap due to one monumental fuck up:
The leveling system prevented people from playing together unless you had a mirror schedule and only played together

Forced grouping was monumental fuck up number 2.
The crafting system always seemed excellent though.
But I dont think anybody counts ff-mmo as a ff game.

FFXI is perhaps my favorite MMO so far. But the forced grouping with people at the same level as you did suck ass. But once that hurdle was over it was a lot of fun (for a pure PVE game).

then again I loved the idea of renkei!

So I played a bit of this game a bit during the last beta weekend(I pre-ordered on amazon to get the pre-order codes for closed beta access, then canceled my pre-order). Nothing earth-shattering, but the combat is interesting. Basically all your attacks are AE and will hit anything in range and you can dodge and evade attacks. Kinda cool for a while, but who knows. Probably won't actually buy it.

A few of us have been playing this.. It was formerly a subscription game that has now gone Free to Play model. It's fun! Beardy, Morbid and I have been playing lately. Looks like Kezzy and his gal started playing as well. We're on Teamspeak most nights
